Churches St Thomas

Grace Baptist Church

To impact the lost with the Gospel and empower believers to achieve successful Christ-like lifestyles.

We will reach the residents of the western part of St. Thomas by communicating the message of the Gospel and teaching the Scriptures in ways that are relevant to their personal lives, bringing all converts into a learning and worship environment that will unite them with other believers as it provides a channel for the continual strengthening of their faith, and ignites within them an enthusiasm to serve as life-examples of Jesus Christ in the church, their homes, workplaces, schools, and social gatherings.

We Are Committed To Teaching The Relevancy Of God’s Authoritative Word. We believe the Bible is our only standard for belief and lifestyle choices. It is our responsibility to teach the commands contained in the Scriptures and demonstrate how these truths are relevant to the believer’s daily activities.

We Are Committed To Providing A Sanctuary For Authentic Worship. We believe everyone in the body of Christ is saved to worship God. Authentic worship involves the whole person (body, intellect, emotion, and will) and should reflect God’s living and active presence in our lives. It is our responsibility to provide a refuge where believers can be revitalized as they worship God in spirit and truth.

We Are Committed To Promoting The Gospel Of Jesus Christ At Home And Aboard. We believe it is only through belief in the Lord Jesus Christ that an individual can receive God’s eternal gift of salvation. It is our responsibility as recipients of God’s saving grace to share the Gospel message with the lost in our community and to provide others with the means of fulfilling this ministry on a global scale.

We Are Committed To Equipping And Mobilizing Believers For Ministry Involvement. We believe everyone in the body of Christ has been uniquely designed to serve the Lord with their spiritual giftedness, talents, experience, and resources. It is our responsibility to help believers identify and use their abilities and resources for God’s glory.

We Are Committed To Maintaining A Covenant Of Unity With One Another. We believe the body of Christ can only be successful in all of its ministry endeavors when there is a bond of loving unity. It is our responsibility to provide avenues for shared interactions that will stimulate and strengthen our relationships with one another and protect us from all divisive threats.

Bethal Missionary Baptist Church

The Bethel Missionary Baptist Church was started in 1963 by (13) thirteen people, several of whom are still members of the said Church. Shortly after we got started we relocated to Hospital Ground #330, St. Thomas, V.I.

Bethel was started out of a prevailing need to reach out to the communities of St. Thomas, particularly to the young people who were left without direction in the wake of the then, economic boom that preoccupied many families’ attention, while their children were left unattended. After much prayer we finally began worship services in August of 1963 in the Hospital Ground area where we stayed for the past forty three years (43Yrs).

In 2006 we moved to Smith Bay about five miles, to the eastern part of St. Thomas, where the Lord gave us five acres of land. We are presently worshipping in the ground floor, while we await finances from the Lord to build the main sanctuary.

Bethel’s aim was to build Baptist Churches throughout the Virgin Islands and other Caribbean islands where there were no Baptist Churches as we conducted our outreach ministries. We also endeavored to start parochial schools to provide education for many children who were left outside of the educational opportunities of the U.S. Virgin Islands public schools, and also to provide seminary training for Bible students who desired training for ministry.

God has helped us to do the above by allowing us to establish and to help support a total of (33) thirty three Churches ranging from Haiti to Suriname. We have also established a Christian Day School and Bible School on St. Thomas. We also have three weekly radio broadcasts reaching the Caribbean islands with the Gospel.

We have been conducting ministries each week to the long term mental patients, short term mental patients, Nursing Homes, Senior Citizens, and prisons. We also conduct weekly meetings for young people. In addition to all the above, we also conduct street meetings each month in different areas of St. Thomas. We conduct after school programs, Computer Literacy Programs, and provide GED Programs for those who did not finish High School.

We look forward with great anticipation to the further development of our new location where enough parking will be available along with enough space for recreational activities.

We are presently located at #8 Estate Mahaagabet, in the Smith Bay area of St. Thomas. We are worshipping in the first phase of the building, and praying much, that our Sovereign Lord would show us favor by providing us with means to finish the main sanctuary. Unlike our previous location, we now have sufficient parking for all who attend the worship services.

Holy Family Parish

Mission Statement

The Church of the Holy Family exists to nurture and advance Christ’s Eucharistic Unconditional Love to all, through love of God and Neighbor.

Faith and Scripture

We are a Roman Catholic family united in the Grace and peace of Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and we are a parish who believe and live the word of God as the truth that shepherds us.

Family and Service

We believe family relationship is important and vow to do all we can to champion Christian family values.

Worship and Sacrifice

We build the Kingdom of God’s Love by proclaiming His Words, spreading Catholic Devotions, celebrating the Sacraments, and sharing the Eucharist; we surrender our lives to Christ as a sacrifice of praise, laying down our lives as He did.

We promise to preach what we practice and practice what we preach:

“Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.”
