Night Out – A Big Success

You came from all corners of the island. To COAST’s Night Out at Rothschild Frances Market Square. The evening was an ongoing reminder that we are each other’s neighbors and we are each other’s eyes and ears to stop crime and take back the night.

Dept. of Public Works is Counting You

They are going to begin counting cars on the Queen Mary Highway on St. Croix. Dept. of Public Works is installing wires under the road surface that will count cars. Oh and whoever took the car counter in Estate Smithfield, please return it. Meanwhile Governor Schneider will dedicate 85 three room houses at Adventure Hill St. Croix as part of the affordable housing program. The dedication is Friday at 2:00 PM –

Big Thank You from Montserrat to Virgin Islands.

The Montserrat Branch of the British red Cross has a Big Thank You to Governor Schneider and the people of the Virgin Islands for helping with the relief effort. The letter says we have heard of the tremendous outpouring or concern and a willingness to help here in Montserrat by yourself and the people of the US Virgin Islands. Please convey to all concerned in this effort our sincere thanks and deep appreciation.

Have you seek the Gramboko Building

Here’s an eyesore that is finally cleaned up. You can’t miss the Gramboko Building in St. Thomas it used to have a FEMA Roof and pealing white paint. Well it has gone through a make over, a face life and is about to become the new homer of the Department of Education Alternative Education program, which is moving in from Barbel Plaza.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry is meeting at Bovoni Baptist Church.

Breast Feeding Week Continues

This week is Breast Feeding Week in the Virgin Islands. Breast fed infants thrive. Breast milk is much less expensive than bottle milk and better for baby and mother. Governor Schneider urges all new mothers to breast feed their babies.
