St. John Beaches Featured in Clean Beaches Council’s Annual List of Clean and Safe Beaches

The Clean Beaches Council recently released its annual list of beaches that have been officially certified for public safety, cleanliness and environmental quality. Three St. John beaches – Maho, Hawksnest and Trunk Bay – ranked among the nation’s top beaches. Beaches featured in this listing were nominated by a local business or government agency. USVI Small Inns Offer “Small Inns All Islands Tour” Vacation Package

The Small Inns Associations of St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas have teamed up to provide visitors a unique all islands vacation package. Guests can enjoy eight days and seven nights of unique small inn accommodations for an incredibly low rate of $835. The rate is based on double-occupancy. Available for travel between July 1 and December 15, 2002, the package includes three or four nights at a small inn on St. Croix and three or four nights at a small inn on either St. Thomas or St. John. On St. Croix, guests may choose from Carrington’s Inn, Inn at Pelican Heights, Innparadise, Villa Margarita, Pink Fancy Hotel or Waves at Cane Bay. Reichhold Center for the Arts on St. Thomas Set to Host New Comedy, “For Better For Worse”

St. Thomas’ Reichhold Center for the Arts Caribbean Repertory Theater Company presents “For Better For Worse” by David Edgecombe on June 21-24, 28-30 and July 1 at 8 p.m. in the UVI Little Theater. Written in 1973, “For Better For Worse” is Edgecombe’s first recognized play. Tickets are on sale now at the Reichhold Center Box Office. Maho Bay Camps on St. John Continues “Trash to Treasure” Demonstrations

St. John’s world-renowned Maho Bay Camps recently announced the continuance of the property’s “Trash to Treasure” demonstrations, now through July 3. Aurora Robson, the camps’ resident artist, provides the work-in-progress seminars, showcasing pieces of art made from the resort’s leftover construction, housekeeping and maintenance materials, as well as from the resort’s recyclable trash. Robson creates the unique pieces of art by welding, drilling and cutting the leftover materials that would normally be discarded. The demonstrations are free.
