Basketball All Stars take the Gold and Silver
Tonight at 9PM the All Stars Basketball Team is coming home, they were in Milwaukee at the World Youth Basketball Championship and the 19-and-under team took the gold medal ( They beat the local home town team!!!) and the 16-and-under team took the silver medal in their category.

Not 4,000 Businesses, but 4,000 jobs.
Is it good news when really bad news turns out to be pretty bad news. Juan Centeno, the Finance Commissioner says he misspoke. He made a mistake when he said 4000 businesses had closed in the he last two years, it actual statement was supposed to be we lost 4000 jobs in the last two years. It is still bad news, but a whole lot better than losing 4000 businesses.
Delegate Christian-Green Supports Micro-enterprise
Delegate Christian-Green joined First Lady Hillary Clinton for the kick off of the Micro-enterprise Initiative. The idea is to make small business loans to people who only need a small boost to get their business going. The delegate says it is about empowering women, consider a loan that’s enough to buy a sewing machine or the tools to run a small business.
John Lucien is On Track
Congressman Victor Frazer writes to tell us that musician John Lucien has a new CD out called Endless is Love and the CD is selling well, Frazer caught up with John Lucien at the Blues Alley in Washington where John was performing and selling the Virgin Islands as well as CD’s.
UVI Needs Hospitality Students
The St. Thomas St. John Hotel Association says that the hospitality training program at UVI needs more students. The idea is to train people for our hospitality industry, but there are not enough students to run the program. There are jobs in the hospitality industry and training is available, so here’s a new start for you.

UVI offers Computer Classes
UVI is reaching out to you with a series of classes on computer use. The classes begin August 3 to the 14th on the St. Thomas Campus. These are short intensive classes from beginning computer skills for the beginner to instruction in Internet use to graphics and Windows 95 for advanced users. Water Island Report
Is it true that Water island is floating in Lake Woebegone? No, Water island is a large puddle of water floating in the Caribbean just off the south coast of St Thomas, half way from Brigadoon to Shangri La.
For those who don’t think Water Island could possibly exist, I say come for a swim Oh, yes, nothing happened – again.
