President’s Photo Creates Stir – Good for US Virgin Islands.
President Clinton is reported to be upset over publication of a photo of himself and Hillary dancing on the beach in their bathing suits. The national media is arguing over Presidential privacy while the US Virgin Islands is reaping a publicity bonanza. Millions of people who barely noticed his vacation are looking at Bill and Hillary dancing on our beach in bathing suits So let them argue over privacy, our beach is getting good press.

CIGNA Stays through June
Government Employees will be covered for their health insurance needs through June of this year by CIGNA, the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. They had planned to leave the territory by year’s end, then were forced to extend through the end of January, now they will stay on board through June while the government reviews other insurance options.
Governor Schneider Signed five Bills and vetoed three others.
The Governor signed five bills and vetoed three others yesterday. Hew signed a bill to give the government more time to negotiate a loan to pay tax refunds and vendors. He vetoed the Uniform Limited Liability Act and the Uniform Partnership act. The Governor said the bills would hurt our ability to lure new business. The Governor also vetoed the Drug Dealer Liability Act saying the intent is right but the details need work.
Daily News – New Hands – New Jobs
Over at the Daily News, there’s news. Ron Dillman, 18 year veteran of the Virgin Islands Daily News has retired as CEO of the newspaper. Penny Feuerzeig is moving over to head editorial page while Ariel Melchior Jr. will continue to publish the paper. And coming on board at the Daily News will be Mike Middlesworth who will be the acting CEO and executive editor.
Hospital Gets New Administrator
Schneider Hospital has a new chief executive too. The Board announced that they have hired Mr. Bruce Goldman to be the CEO of the hospital. Mr. Goldman has more than 20 years experience in managing large medical facilities like the Harlem Hospital and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Senator Liburd says he is pleased with the selection and is looking forward to working with Mr Goldman to bring positive change to the hospital.

Just like last year, my first day special report to the president got the news writers attention. Evidently when I told him to roll over and go back to sleep – He DID! Hahaha
