Should Senate Pass the Limited Partnership Act?

The Senate is taking today off as they give testifiers more time to prepare for the hearings on the contract with the Seafarers Union. That contract review comes up tomorrow. They are also going to consider the Limited Liability Partnership Act after the union contract. That bill was scheduled to come up at the Senate session Tuesday, but Senate President Lorraine Berry has postponed today’s session another day.. That will push both day’s plans back a day.

Rising Stars Concert Coming Up

The Rising Stars are going to hold their annual Christmas Concert Saturday December 20th at 7:00 PM – at the Reichhold Center for the Performing Arts.

Roof Program Seeking a Lawyer

The Governor’s Home Protection Roof Program needs a lawyer. With all the contracts and individual cases, they need a lawyer to draw up an appeals process, policies for renters, probate and processing insurance claims. They also need a complete policy review. Derek Hodge to Announce his Plans

Former Lieutenant Governor Derek Hodge will hold a press conference tomorrow in St. Thomas to announce his plans regarding the upcoming elections.

Civil Air Patrol Week

This is Civil Air Patrol Week in the Virgin Islands. The Governor thanks the Civil Air Patrol for their work with VITEMA, Carnival and with the Police Dept. for maintaining order in emergencies, parades and community functions. On top of that, many graduates of Civil Air Patrol have gone on to successful military careers.

Nigel Hodge Remembered

Sunday was the Nigel Hodge Foundation musical extravaganza. They had 350 folks come to share the music and the Foundation raised nearly $1,000 toward their work with children with cancer.

Calendar is light for today. Monday is the day to get your Emanuel Benjamin Oliver Band Booster Calendar. You can get a copy at all Chase banks on Thursday and Friday and Saturday at Tutu Park Mall on December 6th. Or you can get a copy at the Emanuel Benjamin Oliver school. 775-2000. Tuesday is Volunteer Orientation Day at the Women’s Resource Center the public is invited to donate time to help families in need. Holiday donations are cheerfully accepted. Canned goods, toys and donations are welcome.

December is Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month in the Virgin Islands. Governor Schneider reminds us that the holiday season is filled with parties and festivities. It is also the time of alcohol related injuries. Don’t drink and drive.
