Safe School Bill will get Rewritten

Senators Liburd and Gomez hailed the veto of the Safe Schools Act calling it an example of the democratic form of government at its best. The Governor uncovered problems with the bill and the senators say they will rewrite it. Senator Bryan wants the Committee of the Whole to meet and clear up misinformation about the Government budget. He is calling all key players in the Governments financial departments to come in for questioning. The Caribbean Hotel Assoc. wants you to know about their efforts to Green your Hotel. They say there is real economic benefit from making our hotels more ecologically involved. They are holding a seminar this week in Puerto Rico and lots of other sites around the Caribbean, but no seminar here. Why NOT.

Consumer Affairs did a study of coupons in our supermarkets.

There is a big difference. Plaza Extra offers coupons of their own and don’t take manufacturers coupons that say Good in Continental US. Pueblo has their own coupons, they accept coupons from other stores and they take Continental Only coupons too. Congressman Victor Frazer is bringing members of the International Council of Supermarkets and Harrah’s Entertainment to the Virgin Islands. The idea is to seek partners for a large integrated supermarket mall. And Harrah’s is considering building a major casino.
