WAPA has New Chairman

Arthur Downing has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of WAPA. Attorney General Julio Brady was elected vice chair, and Cecil George continues as secretary. Downing says raising the bond ceiling is critical, then they want to look into the possible sale of WAPA

America’s Cup Challenge Gets National Recognition

Our America’s Cup team was in Newport RI over the last week to assemble their design team and to press the flesh with the news media. David Pedrick, our designer said he choose to join our team because we came to the races with a heart and soul, It is concerned with helping people in the place where they live. Pedrick said he will assist us in developing a fleet of Optimist dinghies to help the youth sailing program.

Delegate Christian-Green Speaks out on Immunization

She is our Congressional delegate, she is also a Medical Doctor. Delegate Christian-Green held a briefing for members of the Black Congressional Caucus and the Hispanic Caucus and the Caucus on Women’s issues about the importance of childhood immunizations She said” There is no reason why any child in America should be at risk for any disease for which a vaccine is available.” That’s our doctor delegate.

We have a Queen and Princess

Dept. Housing Parks and Recreation held a pageant on Sunday to select a Queen and Princess among 13 contestants from all the summer camps including contestants from St. John Winston Raymo, McBean and Frenchtown. The New Queen is Kimel Harris 11 year old at Kirwin Terrace and the Princess is Annalise Setorie. We’ll have details for you later in the day

Attorney General Julio Brady announced that the 70 inmates transferred off St. Thomas are now in Arizona at the Central Arizona Detention Center. At Post Office Box 6100 Florence AZ 85232

Blood Drive Success

The hero of the hour is you. Elated is the word the Red Cross used to describe the Blood Drive in the Virgin Islands. 60 donors on St. John, Thank You! 111 at Nisky Center Thank You! 80 donors at the Federal Building yesterday, Thank You! . The Red Cross got better candidates and better blood. The Red Cross has a Big Thank You to all donors for coming out in July to support the Blood Drive. You make the good news.
