CAHS are Meeting on Violence.

The students residents of the neighborhoods around CAHS are holding a special meeting today at 1:30. they are going to hear about the rules of conduct. The students are going to start a moot court to put offenders on trial. New metal detectors are coming, so are more school monitors. They are also opening the alternative school to troubled students. Enforcement of basic rules will increase. Shirt tails must be in, loitering will end. The school is encouraging students to talk out their differences, even use class time to get the matters cleared up. Don’t be a fool – keep your cool. Violence is wrong, peace is strong. One thing parents can do to really make a difference is to insure that the children get breakfast. Some of the violent offenders lack morning food and that makes nervous angry behavior.

Governor Schneider meets with Farmers and Police

Saying that what we are doing is not working, the Governor encouraged our farmers to take advantage of his new links with Taiwan to learn more about how they make tremendous agricultural success in similar terrain and climate. The farmers suggested that the Governor declare all of Bordeaux to be an agricultural zone and centralize all agriculture and aqua-culture projects in one Government department. The Governor also met with Police on Tuesday to insure that they raise their level of visibility and contact in the neighborhoods. More bicycle patrols and more police car lights were among the topics.

The Governor in a separate statement said he was thrilled to participate in the Marriott’s Frenchman’s Reef Match races this weekend. He said he was excited to see so many young people involved. So little happens on Water Island that I decided to run this story a second day. We managed to go one full year with nothing happening except this anniversary of the transfer. The Governor has declared that Friday December 12 is to be Water Island day in the Virgin Islands. To mark the first anniversary of the transfer of Water Island from the Department of Interior to the Territory. The governor will host a ceremony on Honeymoon Beach on Water Island beginning at 10:00 AM – There is a banner to announce this news to the island residents.
