The Navy Is Coming.
The Navy called and said they are sending in another ship. The Navy is sending more troops for R&R. And an aircraft carrier is on its way too. The Navy says they like our crime prevention measures and we’re headed in the right direction.
God OK in School.
Governor Schneider signed the bill into law and students are allowed to acknowledge their faith in God at voluntary school unctions. The Governor said, How can we ask our children to turn away from drugs and violence and not permit them to declare their faith in God.
Police Grant
President Clinton signed 46 million dollars worth of Community policing grants into law. Our share was $200,000.
Travel Package
What do you get if you ask American Airlines, American Express and America’s Paradise to form a partnership. The governor has suggested that we form a partnership that would promote the Virgin Islands in a kind of a package deal. Stay tuned as this developes.
Confirmations
The senate rules committee confirmed 9 of the Governors nominations to boards and commissions.
License EASY!
Now it is official. Lee Carle said he went in to get his driver’s license renewed and he was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Ms Greg, Mrs.Callwood and Ms Hazelwood and the efficient staff at the drivers license Bureau made getting a license a breeze.

Finally This:
Two St. John students took the top honors at Antilles School annual Awards dinner. Lucas Schnell took the Honor Plaque, the schools top honor, and Westra Miller had the highest academic average with a straight 4.0. That’s excellent. That’s good news.
